How to Add Live Alerts to TikTok LIVE (OBS & TikTok LIVE Studio)
Alerts are the fastest way to make a TikTok LIVE feel alive: a follow pops on screen with a sound, a gift explodes with an animation, and viewers immediately see that their actions matter. Here is the complete setup, from zero to working alerts, in about five minutes.
What you need
A TikTok account with LIVE access, streaming software that supports Browser Sources (OBS, TikTok LIVE Studio, Streamlabs — all work), and a free TokAlerts account.
You do not need to install anything else: the alerts run inside a single browser link that your streaming software renders on top of your stream.
Step 1 — Create your account and link TikTok
Sign up at tokalerts.com, confirm your email, and open the dashboard. On the Overview page, type your TikTok username (without the @) and press Link Account. This tells the system whose LIVE events to listen for — no TikTok password is ever needed, because the connection reads the public LIVE event stream.
Step 2 — Copy your overlay link into OBS
On the same Overview page, copy your personal overlay link. In OBS: Sources → + → Browser, paste the link, and set the size to 1080 × 1920 for a vertical TikTok stream (or your canvas size). In TikTok LIVE Studio it is the same idea: add a Web/Browser source and paste the link.
The overlay background is transparent — only alerts, leaderboards and goal bars are drawn, so it sits cleanly on top of your camera and game capture.
Step 3 — Test before you go live
You should never wait for a real follower to find out whether your alerts work. The dashboard has one-click test buttons that fire a fake follow, gift or share into your overlay so you can see the animation and hear the sound exactly as viewers will.
Pick your colors and design style in Settings — the live preview shows precisely what your stream will look like before you commit.
Step 4 — Go live
Start your TikTok LIVE as usual. The engine detects your stream automatically while the overlay link is open in your streaming software, and every follow, share, like milestone and gift appears on screen in real time.
From there you can layer on more: top-gifter leaderboards, goal bars, a subathon timer, gift-triggered games and text-to-speech — all from the same overlay link.
